º£½Ç»»ÆÞ will showcase its history and culture this month as part of Heritage Open Days, England’s largest annual festival of history and culture, running from 12 to 21 September.
Across the county, more than 50 free events will give residents and visitors the chance to step inside fascinating heritage attractions, with some sites rarely open to the public.
Highlights include:
- Free admission to National Trust Croome and The Firs: Elgar’s Birthplace
- Walking tours in Upton-upon-Severn, uncovering stories of the riverside town
- A special open day at The Old Palace, Worcester, home to the bishops of Worcester for centuries
The national festival, now in its 31st year, will see over 5,800 events across England – with º£½Ç»»ÆÞ playing a key role in telling stories that shaped the nation.
To coincide with Heritage Open Days, Visit º£½Ç»»ÆÞ is launching a new series of heritage stories to inspire visitors to the region.
From º£½Ç»»ÆÞ’s historic role in shaping England’s first representative parliament to its globally recognised industries, such as carpet weaving, needle-making and salt production. Visit º£½Ç»»ÆÞ will be bringing together stories of innovation, leadership and creativity all rooted in º£½Ç»»ÆÞ.
A new celebrational video with some recognisable º£½Ç»»ÆÞ characters will also be released to inspire local pride and attract tourism to the area.
